I always envisioned Jane as a petite blond. Kind of Dakota Fanning-ish. It just makes the character more uncanny, the epitome of innocence as one of the most vindictive characters in the series. She's very scary!
Definitely want to read more about Jane and Alec in the next book.

I'm happy with Jane looking like Dakota Fanning...but I don't really like Dakota. I mean, it seems like she has tried to mature to fast, going in movies that are too old for her. I'm just not a fan.

I'm intrigued by Jane though!

Dakota Fanning? that could work, but i don't think dakota fanning should play jane. . . .for basically the same reasons.

Yeah, I actually can't think of a young actress who can pull of Jane. Shes quite evil, and a lot of child actors would have a hard time adding that depth to her character.

On another note: Does anyone know if Jane can have a "vampire soul mate"? At her young age?

I think Jane could have a soul mate. I mean, she's not really a child, just inside a child's body. Though, I think she is much too self relying and...scary to find anyone who is compatible with her.

Thats a good point, Jaycelane. I actually can't picture Jane with anyone, especially with her power. She seems to enjoy pain too much.

I feel kind of sorry for her, though. Didn't Stephenie once say that although the vampires who are teenagers and children know more than a regular child they have childish thoughts and reflexes?

My friend does too! whenever i bring up jane, she's always talking about how cute it would be to have jane and aro together!

Woah, really? I find Jane and Aro a little bit wrong. I mean, they do have similar powers, but Jane and Aro?! There is nothing more than master and servant going on there.

I wonder if that doesn't bother Aro's mate...Anyway, I think Jane's an interesting character looking for some development. My theory 'bout her is that she doesn't know anything about love, so she finds life boring (that ocurred to me because the look in her eyes is described as dead, or something like that) and torturing other people is kind of a distraction, like she enjoys seeing how someone can be so affected by HER,but remeber, it's just my little theory ...BTW, I don't remember where I read (but I'm still pretty sure I did) that Jane's 13 years old( physically talking, of course), so she'd be still quite young..[/i]

laufrita: Good point about Jane being bored. I bet she has been stuck doing the same thing for many years, and kids do get bored easily. Torturing people might let of a bit of steam, so to speak?
