I have to admit - I'm interested in Kyle. He's such a jerk, and remains that way, but he sort of becomes a different variety of jerk, you know? Like how he keeps Sunny around. I thought that was interesting... and not really like his personality from what he showed at first...

kyle was an interesting character to me too. I didnt really hate him even when he tried to kill wanda/mel. i knew he'd come around. then at the end i was like bawling my eyes out over him and jodi...he turned out to be a good guy. cuuuute!

i felt so much better when he kept sunny afterwards. that made me happy. i felt so happy for sunny. i was like YAYAYAY!!!!! =]

When he came back with Sunny he was so much nicer.It made me realize that he wasn't such a jerk.

I thought it was disgustingly ironic that he ended up with Sunny instead of Jodi. I think he deserved that ironic slap in the face because of when he tried to kill Wanda.

Sunny was cute though. I loved how much she trusted Kyle. (I found that mildly ironic too.)

its funny how that worked out for kyle. it was a good slap for him though.

I would be interested if she wrote a sequel, just to see what happens with Kyle, more then Wanda or Ian or Mel or Jared. (Well, maybe that's a lie about Jared... *drool*)

But yeah, Kyle's such a weird guy with his whole... issue. I mean, he's got Sunny now, and not Jodi, and it's all weird an AH! I want to see their future more then anyone else's.

A sequel is well needed. isnt SM going to make a sequel after she does MS and takes a little break? Thats what i heard anyways...

Hm, I don't think a sequel is needed. I think some novels should definitely stand by themselves, and I also think The Host is one of them.

I mean, really. I love Wanda and I would like to hear more about her, but the novel ends so perfectly that we really don't need another. We can assume, at the very least, that Wanda lives out the rest of her life on Earth and dies with Ian. The humans might reclaim Earth, they might not. But either way, it's all okay, because we know that Ian and Wanda and Mel and Jared are happy.

Most likely. There's always the element of doubt.

I might enjoy a sequel. But I don't want one.

i do have to say i liked it when Kyle got his face smashed in by Ian...i was pretty excited. cuz..Kyle is a jerk...and i have NO EARTHLY IDEA why Sunny would want to stay with him...hes a murderer..whether he succeeded or not. but i was glad at the end he wasnt evil. latas

I agree. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's went through a lot and lost his love ya know? It just took him a while longer to realize that Wanda wasn't so bad. When he found Sunny he lightened up :]

I'll admit it, I hated Kyle when he first made his appearance in the book. But...he's actually kind of funny, and I do think it's cute/ironic how he ended up with Sunny.

I knew that he acted like that because of the loss of his love, seeing Wanda be a part of this human community whereas her kind stole Jodi to him...

Finally we see the real Kyle, the man he trully is, deep down, behind this shell of brute he wears.
