my brother seriuosly thinks im a pscychopath. he was in my room just talking to me last night, and i was doodling on my leg "I <3 E.C." and he looked at me and was like, whos EC? and i said, "nobody." obviously, knowing my brother, he's not going to give up that easily. he asked me again, and said it was edward cullen. he just looked at me with the strangest look and said, "who the heck is edward cullen?" i said he was a fictional character, and he said, "sara. why the heck are you loving a fictional character? he isn't even REAL. you are so weird." i just thought to myself, oh well. he'll never understand. if i ever did corner him into reading ANYTHING, he, being my brother, would sock me in the gut.

back on topic, no, i've never gotten a guy to read twilight. but i have gotten one of my friends to put up a hello kitty coloring picture in his locker..

I'm trying to get one of my guy friends to read it.
He strictly refuses to because the thinks its a love story, but i told him about the fight scenes and he's like hmm really ?
im getting him to read the first chapter..and after he reads that i'm gonna try 2 get him to read chapters 2 and 3...i think if he does read the first 3 chapters he will continue reading it because well chapter 3 is quite action packed :)

i really hope it works !!

For my real-life guy friends, I tell them, "This is a good book. Read it." And then they do, and everything is happy (especially their girlfriends).

For internet guys, I have this long thing which I saved on Word. I'm happy to say it's convinced 15+ guys (only one of these didn't like the book! I'm so happy!)

When I was convinced to read Twilight, I had never heard of it before. It hadn't been such a big deal yet, so I wasn't warned that it was proclaimed a "girl's book".

So it wasn't hard for my friends to go, "Oh, this is a good book. It's about vampires, and this girl that gets involved with them."

BAAM. I was thinking horrific action.

One of my best guy friends read twilight and after when i asked him if he liked it he goes.

"yeah i'd like to see them write the book from edwards view."
and i told him there was going to be one and he goes
"no i mean a real one, like all this time bella was dreaming of forever and edward was just trying to get her clothes off."

sighhhh. that just shows how superior edward is to you average-day guy.

Everyone's a winner! :D

It's funny you bring that up because I was talking about that with one of my friends too the other day. :D
They're always whining we are so hard to understand and all but if they just would take the effort to read the books we like they might actually understand us a little better.
And I didn't really put much effort in getting one of my guy friens into reading twilight. It went like this:
My friend:'What are you talking about?'
Me:'Twilight'
(he looks at me confused)
me:'A book you should seriously try to read once.(then I changed my mind)No,maybe you shouldn't.You'd probably hate it anyway.'
My friend:'I think you're right about that one.'

Why I said that:
I didn't want him to walk around saying how terrible twilight is+I actually wanted my copy of twilight back!It could take ages for him to actually read it (he'd procastinate reading it)...+He just would think it was be terrible (he likes historical thingies without any romance but with bad endings every once in a while.)+I didn't really want to fall in love with him if he actually liked it.

I might try to get some guys to read it though...just to see their reactions on it.

My guy friends actually created a facebook group called:

IF I SEE ONE MORE TWILIGHT GROUP I'LL STAB SOMEONE IN THE FACE.....yea their lovely.

However, when the guys found out that other guys actually read the book and liked it, they considered reading it.

Men *shakes head*

Haha me and my sister managed to get my brother to read it.. but he's younger so its not that big of a deal.

i am working on getting all of my guy friends to read it, but its taking some serious work. I want to get my boyfriend to read it, but im actually kinda scared to because then if he hates it... i will not be happy.

i still think he should though. it would be a good lesson on how to act around a girl =)

haha, I made 4 guy friends read twilight, mostly because they were sooo annoyed by me talking about it all the time, that I said "Ok, I'll stop talking about it IF you all read it" so they did.. and now they're basically harassing me to lend them New Moon and Eclipse (here in Brazil only Twilight was published :P I had to buy NM and Eclipse on amazon.com haha)
And my... ok, he's not actually my boyfriend, but he will be.. I guess .. ANYWAY, he bought Twilight without my knowing and read it.. One day I went to his house and there it was, in his bedroom. I was like "omg, you're reading twilight and didn't even tell me?!" and he said "well, I wanted to know WHY you're so obsessed with this Edward guy, so yeah.. and I understand, a little, I actually learned something with him.." HAHA, I thought it was soo cute! :D:D

I just shoved the book in all of my guy friends' faces and said read it or else. Only works if they think you'll beat them up if they don't.

Well, I actually convinced a friend of mine to read Twilight. He finally read it in January, just to shut me up really. He made up his own version, Twi-lust, in which Edward and Jacob are now dating and Edward is Mr. Banner's love child. Boys *rolls eyes*
Anyway, then I leant him New Moon and he hasn't given it back yet! I usually make it a rule not to lend books to people, but I was winning a battle to get a guy to read Twilight. Big mistake.

LMAO boys will be boys but what you said made me laugh. My friends never really got there, but they said it would be pretty hilarious if both Edward and Jacob get tired of Bella always being in trouble and just end up together or something like that... Weird people... LoL

Lol! I know! Its so funny. Its just typical boys to...er...make a nice book kinky. And its so funny because thats totally what would happen if Twilight was a soap opera.

^ Actually my friend who recommended Twilight to me found out through a guy. He idolises Edward as a sort of role-model or something...
Interesting, huh?

lol....very interesting!
yes i so agree w/ u
y do guys have 2 do that tho??
Pshhh....Bella can have Edward! As long as I have Jacob!
