Wow, I didn't really like Melanie much. For me, it's partially just because of the name "Melanie" because I have this thing where some names just don't work in my mind. (Not that I have anything against people with the name... One of my best friends has one of my weird "wrong" names.) I didn't mind "Mel" but "Melanie" was just... yeee...

But anyway, a real reason: She got SO ANNOYING. Whenever Jared was kissing Melanie's Body/Wanda, she'd always GET IN THE WAYYYY! XD That bugged the crap out of me, because even though I love Ian, I reeeeally wanted Wanda and Jared to get together. Like, Melanie and Jared belong together, and Wanda and Ian do too, but I love that whole "Forbidden" vibe from Wanda and Jared.

So, yeah, Mel just got on my nerves because she got Jared AND she even got in the way of Wanda and Jared's precious few moments. -_-

i was wondering what had happened to Melanie how did she and Jared make up and stuff like that....
i think its cuz everything that Wanda thought (most of the time) had been about Melanies past and what had happened to her....
i think i would so read melanies perspective if Stephenie made another book....

I was really confused once Mel and Wanda split, because I really thought of them as a joined entity. That was, of course, the entire point of the novel. But yeah, those moments where Mel is like, glaring and laughing and being MELANIE and not being Wanda with Mel in her mind, it really confused me and freaked me out a bit.

To me, Mel and Wanda really need to be together, all the time. ONE BODY. ONE PERSON.

I was quite annoyed by Melanie in the beginning. I was all for her just leaving Wanda alone. I just found her presence and snide remarks bothersome.

But, as the story went on, especially when Jared/Jamie came into play, I understood her demeanor a lot more.

@Kati: Yeah, I also struggled with the separate moments between the two. I have a feeling that the more read throughs you get of the book, the easier it may get to decipher.

i actaully like Melanie better than wanda i would have been happier if wanda went away,...SORRY
but i just wanted MElannie not Wanda

i love mel. specially at the end when she finally realizes that she loves wanda. Mel tries so hard to protect her family i just love her!

I didn't like how she was so jealous. Like when Jamie was close to Wanda, Melanie got jealous. I wished that she wouldn't be so rude when Wanda was with Ian, or holding his hand or something. Because although it was Mel's body, Wanda had feelings too. But towards the end I started to like Melanie more because she realized that she cared about Wanda, and wanted her to live.

i really hate Wanda. She annoyed me through the entire book. Melanie is awesome though in my opinion. Buuut Wanda...she just seemed way to insecure and like...nice. Like to the point where she never wanted to let anyone do anything for her, she never wanted to "trouble" anyone, and people like that are irritating.

Oh, and i can understand why Mel would be Jelous. How would you all feel if you had no way to communicate with the two people you loved most, but the person who had taken over your body did. Any normal person would be burning with jelousy. I mean, Wanda again should just Vanish.

i liked Mel - she respects Wanda and later on accepted her for who she was. Strong and sarcastic lol

I liked Mel WAY better than Wanda. And I was so happy whenever Mel got jealous/angry at Wanda. But that's probably cuz I'm a major romance freak and I thought that Mel just BELONGED with Jared so whenever Wanda was loving him up and Mel got pissed I was so glad. Mel's so cool. I'd SO be friends with her.. If I lived in the world of the Host..

I dunno, I like Wanda a lot better. She's okay, but I couldn't care less about her when they were seperated. I like Wanda a lot though
