But somehow, in BD, Jake made it sound like it was a cover up, or something, you know? I dunno. Maybe it was someone from the older pack?

It says in Breaking Dawn that she died in a car crash....

'' A car accident, like my mom. So common. Happened all the time'' (Page 149)

and ''It's hard, the girls where older than you when you're mom passed. They have more trouble being in this house'' (Page 166)


so we can safely assume that she died in a car crash when Jacob was quite young.
Also, I'm pretty sure that it wasn't werewolf related as Billy was never a werewolf (it says somewhere that it skipped Billy's generation, but despite that he still have the ring of authority like an alpha or something) and there were no werewolves around after Levi/ Ephriam (?) until Sam :)

If I'm not mistaken, he can't walk because of diabetes. It's somewhere on the lex. :]

That's actually a really cool thought. I don't know if it's necessarily true, but it would make me feel uber sympathetic if it was.

OH i just discovered that they mentioned her death on BD. she did die in a car accident........

Yes, but it also, when Jacob was thinking about how Bella would be dead, he says something along the lines of "they nailed my mom's casket shut..." Why was Jacob thinking about his mother's casket being nailed shut and vampire related deaths at the same time?

and as someone else said. billy can't walk because he has diabetes.
i wish SMeyer would describe more of jacob's past and the pack more. like, what goes on at La Push high school? mysteries left unsolved bug me.
