No, you weren't the only one. I was sotr of in between. I loved the VERY ending, where everything was nice and happy. But ...
I thought some parts were very surreal. I know it's a fantasy, blah blah, but I thought the whole baby thing was just ... odd. I'm not bothered by it, like I know some people are. I just found it weird and confusing, because throughout the first three books (Eclipse, especially), it was about Bella's choice about staying human or becoming a Vampire, and it was all about what she would be giving up (children being one of them). If there had been none of that, the decision would have been easier. Then, all of a sudden, all the laws of Vampirism were broken when Bella got pregnant. It was strange. It was like Meyer was going against everything she'd previously written. And when the baby was born, I kept picturing either this red, demon type thing, or an alien type thing with a large head and tennis-ball eyes. I couldn't understand why she grew so fast, too, because Edward was a Vampire, and therefore couldn't grow AT ALL, and Bella was still human at that point, and therefore she grew at a regular rate. So why did their baby grow so ... fast? And it wasn't really explained, like I thought it would be.
I think, although I was surprised when I realised this myself, that Jacob's part of the story was my favourite. I was glad he didn't mope around too much, otherwise I think I might have gotten mad at him, but he didn't. And some parts were funny too, which I liked (I'm funny like that!).
And the whole J.Jenks thing I thought was perhaps a little ... unnecessary. It was almost like it was a way to drag the book on past 700 pages. I'm not sure, but I found myself getting really bored at that bit, when something else could have happened, like the battle with the Volturi. It built up and up and ... nothing. I guess I was a little disappointed there.
But all in all ... Haha. No, I did like it, and I read it in two days because I liked it so much, but I thought, for those reasons above, that it was probably my least favourite out of the Twilight books, although I still liked it a lot. Middle. Switzerland. :D
Alice: "I'll play you for it. Rock, paper, scissors."
Edward: "Why don't you just tell me who wins?"
Alice: "I do. Excellent."

Seems it's half and half with Nessie.
Maybe there really is an Edward for me.

there was some stuff that did annoy me a little, but after reading the recent FQ's that she just put on her webpage, i can honsetly say I understand
and here's something else, what is with so many people having so much trouble accepting nessie into the story? She is important, but not necessarily the most vital piece of the story, still, it is the ending SM wanted and can't we all just be happy with that? there is no need for people to say that nessie wasn't important or anything so drastic like that, think of it this way: it gives an opportunity to get to know different parts of Bella and Edward, this is a good ending, and if you don't like it, then i say that when you write your own novel you can make it end as terrible as you like! i looved this book, maybe not the first time i read it over, but if you give it a chance and give yourself a chance to enjoy it, you might find that you actually do!!!
Alice for sure!

exactly! this was the chance for us to see the parent side of edward and bella. what more could we ask for? we saw the unsocial side of both. the depressed side of both. the thrilled side of both. the -cough- excited side of both. and now we see the parent side. nessie was just a way to show us more of exactly who they are. you learn who people really are when they are faced with their greatest responsibility of their life. think of someone you know, that got pregnant and now has a child. are they not a more responsible, sensitive and caring person? SM was just trying to show us exactly who she made edward and bella out to be.
Maybe there really is an Edward for me.
