My Set Report w/ Pics & ROB*** 4/30

My Crazy Set Report! April 30, 2008

Okay, so Tuesday night at around 10pm my friend called me and said ahh they filmed in California yesterday. To which I said are they filming tomorrow and she was like I think so. Then I said, "lets go!!!" We have "reading day" and all classes are cancelled. If you are wondering what that is it means that all of the classes have ended and the University graciously grants us one day to "study" before finals begin. So we had just one day to make it happen!

After a little 'sleuthing' we found out the location of Renee's house and the set! Then we are off by midnight. Just outside of Tonopah, AZ in the median between two rest stops (conveniently I might add) my tire blows out and we spin and end up underneath a bush. Everyone was okay. We just sat for a minute and thought (What do we do now? How do we get back on the road?)

Crying or Very sad

So we are stranded in the middle of no where with no spare. Imagine The Hills have Eyes. That is what it was like. Not long after the Police come blah blah and we get towed, blah blah, have to pay some ridiculous amount for towing and finally get back on the road by 5 am.

Driving, Driving, Driving... Running on adrenaline and those nifty little 5 hour energy shots. We finally get to California! We stopped at a gas station and the nice man behind the register gave us a short cut to Valencia.

Driving, Driving, Driving... blah

AND THEN we exit the freeway.. BAM right there off to the right is the blessed yellow SUMMIT SIGN!! We screamed like maniacs for at least three miles. We finally made it to the house. Jumped out of the car and was cordially given a little reception by the Security Guard there. He was hilarious and was cracking a lot of jokes with us. Since we had A LOT to say about the tire blowout and the fact there were fake cactus everywhere which was funny since we are from Phoenix. "UGH, didn't we just drive 10 hours to get away from this stuff" He told us we could take pictures as long as we didn't go inside or touch anything. So like good obedient fans we respected the rules.

Then we mysteriously discovered where Base Camp was. We hopped back in the car not expecting anything. (And expecting to get lost) When luck graces us yet again. We round a corner and BOOOOOM BANG (Lots of screams and squeals of joy) There is base camp.

When we jumped out of the car and crossed the street. The nice women who I immediately recognized as a fabulous Twilightmom informed us that that was indeed Robert and Peter in Emmet's Jeep. (Eyes squinting furiously) AHHH *swoon* Then they drove away. *cries* We discovered that Emmet had already come over and was leaving. He waved goodbye as he drove off with his dog Kola though. (Sighs)

Then the most amazing Catherine Hardwicke came out and talked to us. She laughed and was amazed that we drove for 10 hours to come see the set. We got some autographs and pictures. YAY!! She was incredibly sweet and kept thanking us all for coming out.

When she went back we discovered or rather deducted what was going on today. They were filming shots with the cars moving through the canyon. Conveniently AGAIN, where we were standing was the exit and entrance so we got to see them every time they drove by.

Later on in the day around maybe two.. Jackson and Ashley came out along with one of Kristen's stand-ins. They were all so nice. I felt bad because everyone flocked to Jackson immediately and I went straight to Ashley. (No one seemed to recognize her) She had long hair and big sunglasses. =] But I know my Alice! Haha. She asked if we had any questions and I said shyly back, "I think you've answered a lot that us fans already had." (blushes) She smiled and laughed and said "Yeah, you're right." They are both sooo much more stunning in person.

NOTES:
-Jackson really is as cool as he is in the interview! He was speaking in some kind of Southern/Jasper accent either for our benefit or just because. I'm not sure.
-Jackson asked who was from Arizona.. then I raised my hand shyly and blushed like Bella. He said thanks to us for coming out from so far.
-Ashley is the sweetest actress I've ever met she was completely chill with all of us rabid fans.
-They were excited they finished shooting it was their last day and they had just wrapped up all of their shots.
-When Jackson was walking away he turned around and said, "I can't forget my wife!"
-He came back and wisked her away. =]

Then maybe 20 minutes maybe less Peter came out to meet us!!

NOTES:
-Peter was finished with filming too. It was his last day and was excited.
-Peter said, "I just couldn't leave without saying bye to the fans, you guys have been out here all day!" (Little did he know we'd been driving all morning, waiting)
-We kept thanking him and he was so nice to us.
-When he went in for the picture he really pulled us in. I was on the outside and he still reached and pulled me in. Talk about feeling the love. Razz

After a while we were told they were going back to the Hyatt to film. Determined to see Rob. We waited at the exit then finally gave in and left.

When we went to the Hyatt they were filming the inside of the car scenes. So we were told to be really quiet. They also rehearsed a couple scenes inside the truck of just Rob jumping in to drive and what not. When they went behind the black wall of fabric (keeping us fans from hyperventilating I'm sure ;]) we couldn't see a thing. However, we could see the monitor from our spot and we could see Rob and Kristen in the car. Ahh even with no sound it was amazing to see him glance over at her with such intensity. They also filmed Bella inside the cab. Which ironically enough we took a picture with in the parking lot. Breaked for a quick dinner and came back and they were using it. =] hehe

When we came back like the crazy Phoenicians determined to meet Rob lol we made a nifty little sign for all to see. (Playing the sympathy card without a doubt) At the Hyatt we were much closer to the set so that Producers, and AD's could see what we had written. A couple came over to ask if we were for real and talk to us.

One of the Assistants came over and said that they would bring Rob out but for a really short minute. As soon as he came from behind the black wall of mystery haha... everyone was trying to contain themselves but we all whispered "AHH its Rob" trying to breathe as well. I know understand how Bella feels about the whole Can't Breathe issue. He really was stunning.

NOTES:
-Rob was so flustered and shy by all of us asking for photos and autographs he didn't really say much.
-I didn't get an autograph but we got some amazing pictures of him.

Before Rob came out Kristen had been taken into the hotel which was right behind all the fans. None of us wanted to stop her since she looked like she was in a hurry. However as soon as Rob walked away, she came out of the hotel.

NOTES:
-Kristen was so much nicer than we all thought she would be and funny too.
-Since we were in the middle of the street and a car driving by nearly hit us and her she said, "Well lets just all get hit by cars" (How Bella-esque)
-She was a little flustered and kept doing this like breathing in and out thing, when she just said and giggled, "Someone make me laugh"
-Kristen was such a doll and like all the other actors/actresses we met was 100x more beautiful in person.

Ah man Peter is so stunning. And Jackson! I love his look, He looks so awesome. Thanks for the photos. They are so freaking awesome. Smile

I love how Rob is STILL so Shy, and hes been probably dealing with crazy fans for months now. Hes adorable.
