Yep, i'm with you guys on everything. This year has been really hard with me with school and when i've been stressed and going nuts i read. It helps. You've got someone else's life to worry about and it takes your mind away from everything else.

I relate entirely to everything being said in this thread. If you can't escape in your own life to find adventure, then open a book. The only heartbreaking aspect to this lifestyle is that most people don't get it when you explain just how good books are... Well, that and the fact that if you're like me, as time goes on you kind of become disconnected from reality, haha.

I hate when people don't understand why reading is so great. Or when people tease you because of it. I think it's stupid and i don't see anything wrong with reading.

When i'm reading areally good book i start off stiff and that (like struggling to get into a book) but when i get going i sort of disapear. I may as well be in a blank room on my own that no-one can get into.

Try living in the city that (very sadly) may aswell be chav central and being The wierdo, geeky emoish person

I've read all the books in the teen section at my local library, i love reading i just dont see how people dont like to, i've read so many books and some people i know have hardly read 10 books in their life. I try and read a book a week one or more at least. I'd say my favourite genre is the fantasy genre though

being with the books gives some sort of sanctuary, instead of dealing with everything else. Even in school, my teachers full telling me off for constantly reading. I find myself reading up to 5 normal sized novels a day and going days and days without sleep. I know it's not healthy and all, but it keeps me content.
what's really ridiculous is my friends say i'm better stocked than Borders. lols.

It's so different for me books draw me into them, sort of like a escape from the world and everything, where you only focus on the book and everything just blurs away, thats what it's like when i read a really good book, i feel part of it in a way

Yeah i've read/have so many books i dont think my house has room for any more and i dont want to give them away.

Oh yeah, i think people used to say that when i was younger. Like.. say they hadn't read a book in their life because they thought it wasn't "cool" enough. I always thought that was stupid.

And yep, i always end up feeling a part of the book as well. End up becoming so attached to the characters and the story. I hate when people say 'it's only a book' when i get upset over something or.. yeah. Ok, i'll stop. I don't know if that made sense.

No i know what you mean, my best friend dosent understand how i can be so absorbed into a book and not at the world. He's reading new moon, my copy i gave for him to borrow and it's taken him 2 months already and he's not even 1/4 way through saying it's just a book. It took him ages to finish Twilight with me telling him to keep reading
