Sorry if this has been posted before. But anyways, towards the end of Twilight when James calls Bella and she goes into the bedroom, wouldn't Alice have seen James calling Bella once he decided to? I'm rereading it and when I got to that part last night, I realized that. Anyone agree?

Now you tell it i never really thought about that. But you are true, Alice should have seen that.

But could it be that she was to focused on something else that this might have slipped?
Or Bella hasn't made her decision yet, cause Alice only sees the future when it's been desided right?

Yeah, thats true. She could have been too focused on where James was going. But since she was focusing on James, she should have seen that when he decided it.

Well she did see the outcome, she saw Bella in the ballet studio, I don't know, maybe she just saw that and not him calling.

*thinks* wow now i don't really have an answer. Unless he made the decision to call at the last minute because he was going to try some other way to get at her???

It's a very good question indeed, one that I've thought about a long time ago! My theory is this; James was taking a long shot by calling Bella. He didn't know for sure that Bella was in Phoenix (remember when he said that he only thought it was true because Edward got on a plane for Phoenix, but didn't know for sure), so therefore it may not have been a firm decision. Sort of like a spur of the moment kind of thing (which would have been fuzzy to Alice). She did see the ballet studio though-which WAS a firm decision by James.

So yeah...take that as you may.

I think that Alice was only concentrating on other things, like Bella in the dance studio.

I think that the decision was too spur of the moment-y for Alice to see it.
Remember in Eclipse how Alice didn't see the intruder in Bella's room, that was because the decision wasn't made until it was too late for Alice to see it.
James didn't know that Bella would try to contact her mother until he got to the house and heard the phone message, so he can't have made the decision to call her until he'd heard Bella leave the number on the message.

I agree with it being too quick for Alice to see, but I also think it's a bit too detail-y for Alice to see. Alice saw the ballet studio after James decided to get to Bella in Pheonix. The phone call was part of the same decision, would lead to the same outcome. The phone call wasn't an outcome, it was part of the decision, a detail. ALice only sees outcomes of decisions, right?

And Alice wasn't watching for anything other James' where abouts.

Wasn't Alice satisfied that she was safe, and she was helping the other dudes and dudettes to head off the other Vampy-Wampies by using her thuper-powers to tell them what was going to happen?

I just think it was a split second decision. Alice was really focusing on where he was. But she did see the longterm affect of it when she seen Bella in the ballet studio.
