I loved this book! I was a little hesitant going in because I was convinced nothing could ever top Twilight, but I was just as in love with this as I was with all the Twilight books. Wanda and Ian are my favorite pair ever (besides Bella and Edward, of course). I am so, so, so happy for them. I think Bella and Wanderer are a lot alike... just because they are selfless to a fault and they will do anything (including kill themselves) to make the people they love happy and are too set in their decision to see how thats not going to help anything. (Think Bella going to the ballet studio in Twilight & Wanderer deciding to kill herself towards the end of The Host). Anyway, I just thought it was fabulous!
I heard there will eventually be sequels, one for Melanie and one for Wanda. I must say I almost don't like Melanie and Jared, for some reason they bother me... but I would lovelovelove to read a sequel in Wanda's point of view. I wonder if all the humans join together? That would be great to see.

This book is very thought-provoking. I loved it.

It really gave me a lot to think about, and still is. It reminded me of a mix of "Edward Scissorhands," "Ender's Game" and "The Lovely Bones"..yeah I know pretty random, but it makes sense in my mind. It's a really good combination of the lessons brought out in those stories.

I like it, in a way, better than Twilight because it is so much deeper. Stephenie really bears her "soul" in this book, and it is obvious she has a lovely one.

All in all, it really makes you evaluate your life and humanity in general. What are we here for and what kind of person do you want to be? Introspection, sci-fi style. I can't say enough about it...

omg!!!!!!! ahhh! i finally get to talk! my dad wouldn't let me on last night when i finished it! ahh.
i finished it after reading all day. not moving. well i did a bit but i was still reading. even at dinner. haha... last night (which is sat.) and i stayed up to 1:30 at night on fri. uhh. i couldn't help it. i was bored with english hw so i was like okay one chapter only. i see that policy went far. haha.

i loved it!!!! ahhh!!! i was bit confused on the whole 'pet' thing and the baby blood on the wall thing. can someone help me out here?

i loved it! ahh. wait. already said that. haha. it made me so emotion. as it must have for many others. haha. i want to cry and laugh and shriek so that is why i am biting on my lip. haha. and breathing very slowly. =]

what else did i want to say. hmmm. idk. oh well! but just for all intentional purposes... i LOVED it!!!! ahhhhhh!!! okay breath. wheeew.... =] all better. for now. okay not any more... =]

i love mel and wanda's teamwork ;] it really helped wanda become more 'human'

I thought the book was great...I laughed, cried, and was so happy when Wanda got to stay on Earth and not be dead. And I'm happy Melanie survived and Kyle found Jodi/Sunny it was another great book from Stephenie

Oh my. I really loved this book. I thought I wouldn't like it at all, but it was so thought-provoking and insightful. I loved Ian. Not as much as Edward of course, but I really loved him. I sobbed when Wanda was finishing off her list of things to do and when she was going to go see Doc.

Two main questions:

1) I was kind of confused, did Jared change his mind and decide he really loved Wanda at the end when he was "lying" (just like Bella was d"reaming" in the tent with Jacob and Edward in Eclipse...sorry, random.)? What was that? I thought he only loved Mel?

2) There was only thing I didn't like about this book, that really kind of bugs me. When Wanda is getting ready to die and Mel doesn't want her to leave, they are so close. They call each other their sister, they sound like best friends. I thought this would play out after Wanda got her own body and they would be inseparable, but it barely even mentions them interacting. Was I the only one that thought this was really abrupt?

yeah, I agree with you about Mel and Wanda. I almost felt a little sad that they weren't in the same body, which was kind of weird. I just felt like they should have this unbreakable connection afterward.

Another thing that I thought about a lot was, what are inside of human bodies? Why did Mel and a few others fight to stay and others were gone so fast? It bothers me to think that the humans were just "brain cells"...I don't know.

but, I loved it.

Some might feel that they must kill me, but I definitely like The Host more then Twilight. And Eclipse. Not sure about New Moon, but the other two definitely.

Like, I don't want Wanda with Jared... I want to be with Jared! Haha. Wanda and Ian all the way!

I CRIED to so bad when I thought Wanda was gonna die... And I'm like, going through withdrawal!!! My friend has my copy and I WANT TO REREAD IT!!!!! I'm DYING without some Ian and Jared LOVE.

My mom and I were talking about how Wanda/Mel is soo similar to Bella, being one person, but having two parts and each loves someone else. So strongly. And I know for me I couldn't decide (before the end) if I wanted Wanda to stay with Ian or Mel to be with Jared. I seriously had to put the book down for like fifteen minutes for a tearful think session. I was sooo pleased with this book.

At the beginning i was kind of lost so i stopped after chapter 3. [not for long though maybe for like a day or two.] I don't think it got REALLY interesting until she had the dream about Mel and Jared First meeting. I fell in love with Jared right then. That changed when she finally found him. I actually HATED him. He was so mean. When she first got there the only person i liked was Jeb. But then Jamie came out and i fell in love with him immediately. Jamie is so sweet. I didn't expect Ian to fall in love with wanda of all people. The love triangle is amazing and stephenie meyer did a great job creating it! i couldn't believe how fast i fell in love with Ian after he started not being mean. and Doc was a cool dude too. :]

haha same here in the beginning i was like, what the, i can't understand all these spirit soul host thinggy but then i couldn't do anything else so i had time to understand it :]] i took me a week to finish it >.<
