i think if it was one-on-one, a vampire would win.
but if it were group-on-group, it would depend on how many there are, who takes the first casualty, who's there.
group-on-group would be hard to determine.
but one-on-one, i think a vampire would win.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I think.
Even numbers, even like 12-on-12, vampires would win.
But if we had like 12 wolves vs 8 pires, the wolves would win. I think the wolves would need a pretty big number gap to beat them.

if it were just Jacob and Edward going at it over Bella, then i think it would be well matched. Edward has the speed and strength. but in New Moon, Sam's Pack said that Jacob had a real gift. he has both strength and speed. if Jacob could hold his own facing those new born vampires in Eclipse i think he can hold his own against one vampire. but then again Edward has had almost 100 years of fighting.

I kind of feel like Mike Tyler and Ben betting on who would win at the school "confrontation"... lol
I am a total Jacob fan, but I have to admit that in a Jake/Edward fight, Edward would probably win. Even though Jacob is super strong and stuff, he's still human.. he's all warm and muscle-y (is that a word? lol).
Edward is... a rock. He's sold and hard as stone. and I think his strength could easily match Jacob's. Add speed to that... and mind-reading...
In a group-on-group, I'd say werewolves. But it'd be a pretty even match.
Come to think of it, Jacob v Edward would be pretty even too.
This is too hard of a question *wrinkles nose in indecision*

one thing is for sure...Bella would loose, she would be mad at the one who won, and sad that the other was hurt/dead and that would make her, (and me) very sad. Lets just say that it would result in a bunch of angry people.

Okay...you guys are right, bloodsuckers would most likely win--(Bloodsuckers DO NOT include sexy wintery ice vamps like Edward) However jacob is pretty strong human--and all tight and muscle-y! Ahem...Sorry; 
my delicate but massively insane urges for Jacob are in the way of my comments!!!
Now Edward vs Jacob. Who knows? Maybe they'd both kill eachother in the end...Think about it...
