It really annoys me sometimes how some people just put Bella down and then I read the reasons and I think "God, if you maybe just understood a little better what she's going through, you would get it.". Bella is not perfect at all and that is why I love her, she's the complete opposite of 'perfect' Edward and that makes there love story so incredible. I understand that she is sarcastic and that she doesn't always make the right decisions, but she is just human, especially between all those that sorround her and she really can't be blamed for everything that has happened. I just feel so bad with the Bella bashing going around and it makes me sad because I know what it feels like to go through some of the things she went through and I know why she acts the way she does.

So there are my 2 cents. Bella is the spirit of the book, without her there would've never been a story.

I'm clumsy, too. I trip a lot when I'm walking or slip or blah. haha

But I like volleyball and running and badminton. haha!

Wow i love you. Haha. That's exactly how i feel about Bella.

I have never cared so much about a female charcater in a book before as i have with Bella. I connect with her.. and i think the reason for that is because she [i]is[/is] human. She does make mistakes, she isn't perfect.. she's so real.

I love Bella. She does do some things that annoy me sometimes, but she's not perfect and I don't expect her to be.
For example, when she says in Eclipse "I want to be a monster too". Eventhough she was just playing around, that made me furious because Edward doesn't need to have people agreeing with him that he is a monster. That seemed stupid for her to do.
The thing that made me more mad than anything was her falling in love with Jacob. I know she couldn't help it and I would have done the same thing, but I saw it as unfaithful to Edward. I just don't like there being any desire whatsoever in her to be with anyone else.
Despite these (and a few other things that I won't go on about) she is an AWESOME character! In Eclipse, she really develops some backbone. She knows what she wants, what she needs, and the difference between those two. She's very mature for her age. I think if she were real we would get along very well.

I love Bella just because she's an average normal teenager...it's just she's unconditionally in love with a vampire who loves her too but has to fight the urge to kill her. She's just normal and has flaws like any other person and is totally clumsy but that's why we love her. She's not perfect but who is?

I think Bella is easily relatable, and that's partially why Twilight is so popular. If the voice of the main character was someone that no one liked, or no one cared about, then why would anyone care for what she had to say?

Bella is down-to-earth, quiet (I very easily relate to her shyness and the fact that she hates making a big deal of things), and simply...human. As all of you guys have been saying, the fact that she is human makes her the person who sort of "sticks out" in the series among all the vampires and werewolves. At the same time, she represents who all of us readers are. Normal humans. =]

The only thing that sort of annoys me about Bella is that, in my opinion, I don't think she realizes all the time what she has in Edward. And in Jacob, too. I think at points in "Eclipse" she used the both of them, and if Edward wasn't so accepting and understanding and loving of her---heck, if Edward wasn't Edward at all, he would have dumped her a long time ago.

Do you guys know what I'm trying to say? Dont' get me wrong, I love Bella's character, but ya know...it's the only thing I noticed about her, mainly in Eclipse...

My friend trips all the time so we call her Bella.

all my friends think im just like bella swan..
Im really shy at times...and i am super clumsy..
i trip over the tinyest things.....i get hurt alot...
im not that good at many sportsexcept soccerr.
i get into tough situations...
but the bad part is;;i havnt found my edward yet.

Some people underestimate Bella. I personally love Bella. She has such a great character. You guys have got to understand that Bella is HUMAN and Edward is NOT. A relationship like that is nothing normal. Her insecurities and her sarcasm...well, really. What do you expect? She's 18.

If she always made the right decisions and if she were confident and everything you guys would prefer her to be, she wouldn't be real, now would she?

Wouldn't we all prefer someone, fictional as they are, who are real? And someone we could easily relate to?

I believe Bella is a great character, she is "perfect in her imperfection" and its only reasonable for her to feel insecure, dont forget she is around 18 years old and she is dating a vampire who is beautiful, while we can see at the beginning of twilight that she always had low self-esteem and never believed she had an ounce of beauty.

Also, I do understand when people say she depends too much on edward, but I would like to see those people lose the love of their life (no I wouldnt like to see that because I dont wish this on anybody) and go on with life "as if he/she never existed". Im not talking about some silly crush or high school romance! Im talking about real true love, the one you would do anything for, the one you imagine growing old with, that special someone!!

I think the attitude Bella had after Edward left and told her he didnt love her anymore, was to be expected. The love of her life had just told her that he didnt love her anymore and that he would find "distractions", and to add up, he wanst the only one leaving, but his whole family. So she didnt just lose him, but also lost a family which she felt like hers!! That has to be painful, I think I would go catatonic!

So that sums up what I believe of Bella! I hope I got someone, at least one person, to understand my point of view on the "bella subject".

i love bella, she is a real girl, and reacts belivabley (yeah bad spelling, i know ) to real, well, some real, situations. i loved her in twilight, and in new moon some of my friends got annoyed with her, but i knew exactly what she felt like. im alot like bella lol. were both very clumsy, but i llike gym, even tho i fall down alot all my friends say i remind them of her, one of my friends calls me bella even. i dont remember how we got on the subject, but alot of the girls at school thought of me while reading twilight, and half of them i didnt even think knew who i was!! im very shy as well and hate making a big deal over anything. lucky for me iv found my edward too (luckily we've gotten past the new moon part and moved on to eclipse)

I think Bella is awesome because she didn't care about fitting in and dating a lot like most other teenage girls.
And I guess some people don't like her for having Edward, but I do. They really do complement eachother.
The only thing about Bella I don't like is that she loves Jacob. But she couldn't help that.

When she's being self pitying it annoyes me. She's got everything, two amazing guys ready for her ''neither one evil, neither one weak'' and yet she DOES just sit around crying all the time! saying that, you can't help but love her.

I totally agree wit u.. I really really like her, but sumtimes she annoys me (about the whole Edward-Jacob thing). Especially that phase she went through in New Moon.. I mean i know she was in a deep pain but i wished she could pull herself together. Thank god there's Jacob. Geez it so obvious that the one she really loves is edward, so why can't she let Jacob go? Poor Jake.. And Edward is soooooooo there for her no matter what.. Wait, Jacob's like that too.. Well u guys know what i mean, Bella and Edward r so meant to be together..

But i totally love her..! Because of her flaws and all..
