Hm .. where are you living? =D

In Germany things like this doesn't happen very often. Of course there are
people who think Harry Potter is bad for they children but this is only a
small group. Some Parents go crazy and the rest of the nation makes fun
of them.

Never heard of libaries banning books like Twilight or Harry Potter. Except
the law for the protection of the youth definites them for children up a
specific age but thats a different thing.

At our school libary we were able to borrow Harry Potter, even though i'm
visiting a protestant, private school. But school libarys are not that
common in germany and our's is closed since 5 Years or so, and when the
architect forgot a room for it, theres not a big chance to get a new one.

But the point is, here books are not be banned of religious reasons .. I'm
not quite sure about the catholic schools, but i really can't imagine that ...
no, think that would be against the free will and the freedom of religion
and thinks like this...

People freak out over things before they even know what it really is.

I had an elementary school that tried to ban Harry Potter. In the end they couldn't. hah.

My librarian just buys me books if I ask for them and thats why she bought Eclipse. I would flip out if she banned it cause then other people wouldnt read it.

Its TOTALLY stupid to ban it and I suggest you buy it.

There was something similar to your situation that was sent all the way to the Supreme Court. And the students won ! i think we all think it's ridiculous becaseu we're all so obsessed with it.
If we just heard that some book is banned from the school library then we would just not care and be whatever about it. but the only reason we care so much about it is because well. we do ! ahahah.

That's insane. Completely nuts.

My family was very hesitant to let me read it when they heard it was a "vampire teen romance novel", but when I explained it was very clean and all very chaste - well, my mom is now proud to be called a Twilight Mom, and she squeals along with me with Twilight Tuesdays. If anything, it's brought us closer together.

But there will always be people who will NOT listen to you, no matter what proof you give them. Look at Laura Mallory (Laura Mallory?!? Does that name remind you of ANYONE???) - the woman who led so many lawsuits against Harry Potter because it "blatantly" "promotes witchcraft and Wicca."
Riiiiight. This woman, like your librarian and principal, have not read the book they're banning. They don't know what they're talking about.

I guess that is why we're getting worked up about it. But i really don't think any books should be banned from the library. People should be able to choose what they want to read.. not be told.

Wow..dude, if I were you when your librarian said that, I would soo put up a tantrum right then and there haha..
Honestly, I think they're pretty stupid to ban these awesomely unbelievably great books that were created by a true Godess-Stephenie Meyer lol..I mean, I understand its a Catholic school but geez, us Catholics still read the Twilight books..so might as well use common sense and add them to the library..
Plus, just like what some people already mentioned, they probably don't understand why we love it soo much. If the staff at your library didn't read it yet, well, already that would be one sign of stupidity to assume before experience (--Sorry if that doesn't make sense lol). But if they did read it (which I highly doubt they did), they would've given specific examples on HOW it would affect us..But honestly, other than becoming a huge fan of the books, and being in love with a fictional character lol, I don't see any changes that would affect our being as Catholics..

Again, if I were you, I would soo totally confront the librarian and be like, "HAVE YOU EVEN READ THESE BOOKS?! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT GOES ON IN THESE BOOKS?! If not, THEN WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME ALL THIS NONSENSE WHEN YOU'RE NOT EVEN HALF WAY RIGHT?!"

hahahahahaha

But anywho, this should go to all books too..not only the Twilight Series
